The Story

Gishyita is a small washing station located in the Kigarama cell of the Karongi district in Rwanda. Established in 2010 by a local farmers' cooperative, it became fully operational under the management of the Rwanda Trading Company (RTC) in 2018. The washing station has achieved notable success in yields and quality, processing cherries from 995 local farmers using a blend of traditional and modern techniques. Today, Gishyita employs six full-time staff and 80 seasonal workers. RTC further supports the community by offering educational training and reinvesting in local infrastructure.

Gishyita Lot #26 is a remarkable coffee that stands out for its vibrant flavor profile, featuring a bright acidity and delightful sweetness. This exceptional lot not only showcases the rich coffee culture of Rwanda but also the dedication of Karongi farmers in both producing and processing coffee to the highest quality.
