The Story

Juan Carlos Artunduaga is a highly skilled coffee producer with over three decades of experience. He embodies the legacy and evolution of Colombian specialty coffee, rooted in his family's long history of coffee cultivation in the Hulia region, one of Colombia's most celebrated coffee areas. His exceptional specialty coffees have gained international acclaim.

Juan Carlos manages his finca, La Granada, located in the township of La Palma at an impressive elevation of 1,800 meters above sea level. This altitude provides ideal growing conditions for the sought-after Pink Bourbon varietal.

For this lot, Juan Carlos employs a natural process with an extended fermentation stage to create a distinct and complex flavor profile. The cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness and fermented for 24 hours while still in the cherry. The beans are then slowly dried over a period of 20 days. This method enhances the natural sweetness and fruit-forward characteristics of the coffee, showcasing Juan Carlos' expertise in traditional coffee practices and innovative post-harvest processing techniques. He continues to elevate the reputation of Hulia and Colombian coffee globally, offering an unforgettable sensory experience in every clean, well-balanced cup.
