Ethiopian coffees notoriously change the perceptions of coffee drinkers about what coffee can taste like. This is no doubt due to the amazing genetic variety the ‘birthplace of coffee' boasts; the vast majority of coffee varieties here have yet to be even categorized. A prime example of this are coffees from the southern Guji region.
Coffee grown in the Guji zone are uniquely expressive, exhibiting pronounced florals and stone fruit qualities while being balanced by a heavy caramel sweetness. In addition to the stunning flavor qualities of these coffees, the raw green coffee has an impressively long shelf life. We’ve found that Guji’s generally reach their true flavor potential as the following year’s crop is starting to come in fresh. Because of this we are able to offer Ethiopian coffee at peak flavor all year round.
